The Clinical Chemistry Laboratory is seeking a clinic veterinarian for hourly employment

About the job

The position is an hourly paid employment. The role involves independent assessment of cytological and hematological samples. Telephone consultations, other analytical work, and additional tasks may also be included. Working hours are mainly scheduled during weekdays during the day.

Your background

You are a specialist in veterinary clinical pathology (Dipl. ECVCP) and have extensive experience in cytological, hematological, clinical chemistry, and endocrinological veterinary laboratory diagnostics. You express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish and English and are a proficient computer user. Ideally, you have knowledge of the instruments and methods we use in the laboratory. Experience in clinical work and mentoring students is an advantage.

We are looking for someone with a strong interest in veterinary clinical chemistry diagnostics. We want you to be communicative, customer and service-oriented, and a good team player who helps where needed. You are self-driven, enterprising, and flexible. In your work approach, you are meticulous, analytical, and quality-conscious. You want to understand others' needs and perspectives and share your knowledge in a pedagogical way, as you see that it creates the best conditions for the organization. About us

The Department of Clinical Sciences is responsible for undergraduate education, research, and doctoral education in anesthesiology, imaging diagnostics, animal care, epidemiology, laboratory animal science, surgery, clinical chemistry, internal medicine, and reproduction. Our activities span all animal species.

At the SLU University Animal Hospital (UDS), education, research, and advanced veterinary care go hand in hand. We train tomorrow's veterinarians and veterinary nurses and provide first-class care for companion animals, competition animals, and production animals. We also disseminate knowledge to the public. By combining established knowledge with the latest research results, we develop the future of veterinary care.

Under one roof, we offer healthcare for horses, dogs, cats, and other small animals. In addition to modern, purpose-built facilities, we have access to advanced imaging diagnostics and a veterinary specialist laboratory. UDS also includes an ambulatory unit that goes out to stables and farms to examine and treat horses and livestock.

Employment type:

Hourly paid employment as a senior advisor; specific fixed-term employment.

This means that you will be offered work for shorter periods during the period specified below under the heading "scope". You can accept or decline each opportunity you are offered work. When you accept one or more job opportunities, a new employment contract will be made for those occasions.

Scope:

The scope varies based on the needs of the organization from 2026-03-01 and until 2027-04-01.
